The good of the par;y, of the State, and the nation, deuands careful aud wise action. When a party is largely in the majority it frequently falls into the hands of designing and corrupt uien., who manipĂșlate its conventions and make its tickets in their own interest. When largely in the minority its oouventions becomo careless, and tickets Are filled up at random and with the names of anybody who will go upou them.
