Crops in this part of the county are all ookiug wbII. Wheat is all secured, aud oats dra reoeiviug the universal attentiou of the iarmers at preseut. There seenis to be a comjlaint, however, that the potato bugs are doïng a lively business. One farmer remarked ,he other day that early last spring, just as iotatoes were coming up, he had occasion, one cold, damp day to visit his potato patch, and upon his near approoch thought he could hear ;he sound oí music, when upon mounting tha fence he beheld numerous potato bugs perched upou lumps of clay singing " I would not live always," &c. He turned away satisfied that a few days at least would end the bugs ; but warm weather coming on apace, he agaiu had occasion to visit his potatoes, aud what was lis surprise when mounting the fence to hear more joyiul music than before trom the bugs, the words being this time, " When we've been here ten thousand years," &c. The next ïour fouud the old man at the nearest drug store purchasing Paris green. We hadu't the ace to aak the old man what effect it had upon the bugs, but presume it did the business. POLITIOAL. Democrats and reformers are enthusiastic and coufident, beheving that " ever the right comes upperinost." A club will soou be orgauzed here, the result of which I will aeud you on time.
