A singular occurrence lately transpired in the northem part of Piitnnm aud the southern portion of Dutchess counties, New York. After a violent thunder-storm, accompanied by iin unusualamountof ohain lightning and torrents of rain, dead wild-Keese were picked up by the hundred. Nunibers of them had previotisly been observad alive in the shallow ponds in the vicinity, and they were seen to act strangely duriiif? the 'storm, as though they had boen flred upon. The heads of the dead fowl were badiy torn and in some cases their feathera wero burned tp n crisp and. their bodies burst open. ! - ■ "
