The taxcs this year, less the tax for schools and debt requirements, are Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars less than they were under Govornor Morgan in 1860 1 And this notwithstandiug the fact that in 1860 the business of the country was on a gold basis, while now we are uffering all the evils of a redundant paper currency. Eeduce the taxes of to-day to gold. and the savings wül be seon to have boen about onehalf. Mako tho computation per capita and tho savings would bo found to be rauch greater. That is what Samuel J. Tilden has done for New York. Thut is what he will do for the Nation. His work in this State will bo continned by Lueius llobinson, whose Democratie financial doctrines and policy were odious to Morgan whon he was Governor, and have been rejocted by the Kepublican party. Thty will now be made the fiead of the corner in bolh State and Nution. - Albany Argus.
