■On Saturday anemoon last a largo and eQthusiastic meeting was held at Saline. A hickory pole, about 140 feet high, was raised on the cjruor adjoining Davenport's store, bearing aloit the namee of the next President and Vice President oi the United States. The Ypsilanti Light Gaard Band was in attendance and cheered the crovrd with their fine music. W. D. Harrimau, Esq., nominee for Judge of Probate, gave an able and telling speech in the afteruoon. In the evening there was a fine torohlight procession with about 275 torehes, composed of companiea from Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Saline, after which D. Crainer spoke to a crowded house in Union School Hall, holding the large audience for about an hour and a half, in the closest attention as he gave them the facts in relation to the present isaues. He was cheered ofteu with rounds of applause. Col. Burleigh followed with a íow remarks, after which the audience rose and with a will gava three cheert for Tilden, Hendricks and victory.
