The Representativa Convention for the Third District couvened at Thomas' Hall, Chelsoa, Oot. 6th. Chas. S. Gregory, of Scio, aud Wm. G. Doty, ot Manchester, were made respectively temporary Chairman and Secretary of the conveution. The chair appointed a committee of flve on credentials, as follows : M. McDougall, Bridge, water; L. H. Jones, Dexter; Asa Blackney, Syivau; Jas. Sage, Lodi; J. D. Corey, Manchester. The conventibu tnea adjourned until 1 p. M. On rea8sembling as per adjurnmeut Chas. . Gregory was elected permanent chairman aud Wm. G. Doty permanent secretary of the conveution. The Committee on Credentials reported 41 gentlemen entitled to votes in the conveution. Ou inotiou, Jacob Breining, of Freedom, and Thos. Youug, ot Lyndon, were elected tellers. The couveutiou then proceeded to ballot for Representativo. Norris, 12 16 17 , 17 22 Gregory, 8 11 14 15 17 Turnbull, 11 10 8 7 1 Fleming, 9 3 On motion, E. B. Norris, of Manchester, was deolared the unanimous choice of the convention. The following District Committee was appomted by the chair : L. H. Jones, Dexter ; Wm. G. Doty, Manchester ; Jas. M. Caugdou, Chelsea. Convention then adjourned. Boaed qf Supervisors. - The annual session of the Board of Supervisors commenced on Monday last, with a full atteudance of members. Nathan Pierce, of Lima, officiates as Chairman. The following standing committees were appointed : On Criminal Claimt- Yeckley, Wheeler, Tuomy. On Civil Claims- Olcott, Shurtleff, Burch. To Setcle with County Offtcers-Krapi, Warner, Ball. On Salarie of County Officert-Hotoh, Berdan, Suttou. Apportionment of State and County Taxes - Ball, Everett, Kress. On Public Building- Gregory, Batohelder, Young. On Iiejected Taxes- Everett, Tuomy, Schuyler. On Per Diem Allowance -Case, Colman, Breining. On Unfinished Btisiness - Berdan, Harper, Batchelder. Accounts of Superintendent of the Poor- Galpin, Suttuu, Hatoh. On Small-Fox Claims -Colman, Shutts, Krapf. Earlt Closino.- We, the undersigned, agree to close our respective places of business at 7:20 p. M., from and after Oct. 16th, 1876 until the first of April, 1877, excepting Saturday nights, and from the 15th day of December until the lst day of January, 1877 : Mack & Schmid, Bach fc Abel, Wines & Worden W. S. Allen, Millen & Son, Donovau & Co. Students' Scien-tifio Society.- There wil be a meeting of the Students' Scientific Society Monday evenlng, Oct. 16th, 1876, at 7 1-2 o'clock.
