London, Nov. 8. - The Dñily News oi this moruing, discusning tho Presidentiftl eleotion in the United States, says the result cannot surprise any attentive observar of American politics. It cannot cause a reversal of the legisl ation o: the yoars iuimediately suooeeding the war. It is a chungo of men more than of measures. The News foars no injury to American oredit, and regards tho payment of the national dobt in specie as safo, whichever party ruay bo in power. It bases its generally favorable antieipations in a great moasuro on the personal antecedmits and morleration of Mr. Tilden who is likely to exerciso a rostraining influence upon tho extreme section o: the party. It does not as yot see any indication that the election affects the question of prutectivo legislation. Questiong rolative to the South have been the df'ciding forens, the News thinks rathor than currency or free trade problems. The Standard also regards Mr. Tilden's antecedent as furnish,inj a good guarantee of tho honesty and moderation of his administraron and a seourity againxt inflationinm.
