The foltuwing are the statistics ot the Stilte Public School at Coldwater : The institution employs thirty persons, including one superintendent, oue clerk and steward, one matron, one hospital manager, nim cottage managers and iive teachers. There are 255 childreu. The oost per capita for 1876 is 126 66. The oost for 1875 was $159 89. The mi tiro receipts for the year endiug September 30th were $35,242 60; expenses, $27,612 51. The whole nuaiber ot children received is 413; number indentured, 117; number returned to the counties, 8 ; number seut to the Reform School, 2 ; runaway, 3 ; died, 27. Of the 255, 201 are males and 54 teníales; white, 2 tl; colored, 13; na tive, 168 ; foreiirn, 87 ; number whose parents are both living, 87 ; orphans, 45; half orphana, 127; number received fooin the poor house, 161 ; number whose patenta were convioted of crime, 15 ; number whose parents are iuteinperate, 60; nutnOur whose parents are in the poor house, 71. The teachers were paid f7,816 ; the farm products, 1,000 cabbages, 169 bushels of apples, 74 1-8 bushels of potatoes, 308 bushels of turnipu, 28 bushels of onions, 90 bushels of cucumbers, and 75 of green corn. In the sewing room 14 quüts were made, 95 dresses, 318 aprons, 252 skirts, 204 towels, 266 handkeiohiefs, 153 sheets, 100 ooats, 310 pairs of panttt and 166 vests ; in the ehoe shop 248 pairs of shoes and 854 wore repaired. In the bakery were made 40,906 luaves of bread. The superintendent reoommends that an agent be appointed in each county to procuro homes for the boys. This is not uecessary in regard to the girls as the dmnaud for theiu is greater than the supply.
