Leather From Human Skin
Theexpeiimentsof two ingenious shoe makers aro now excitiag some attention among the cnrious, the result being the production of good leather from the skin of a human being, and the manu facturo of a handsome pair of boots from it. The skin was taken from the heart, stomach, and back oí a man in a dissecting room, who had died Buddenly from accident, and upon whom decay had not yet bognn to act. It was placed in a solution of hemlock and white oak barks, used in tanning, and in threo weeks from the first steeping, ap pearod as the upper leather and legs o! the boots in rjnestion, the soles boing mads of cow skin. The tinning created a ligütbrown color, and the leathor proved somewhat warmer than calfskin, and more porous. It sppears thst after allowing for the necessary waste, tlie skin of an average-sized man will make two pairs of boots, including the soles, but tho latter would not be sufflciontly
