Editoe Abgus:- lt has beeu so long since you had a word trom Saline that you begin to doubt the existence of such a village. Nevertheless she stiil waves, bat the fact is Mr. Editor your humble servant has been holding his breatu siuoe Nov. 7, in the vaiu endeavor to asoertain whether the "bloody shirt" business really succeeded, or whether our worthy opponents had great "akill in counting votes. I am not of the opinión tht the former proved a very great suoeess, but as to the latttr, well, practice makes perfect, you kuow, and they have the inside row. Yet, despite all their pretensión I believe that the man who was fairly elected will be duly maugurated on March 5, and that man I beheve to be Samuel J. Tilden. Our school is not as full this winter as usual, but uuder the excellent management cf Prof. Gumaer, 60 ably assiated by subordinates, it is doing its share of the good work of teaching the young idea how to sprout. The following persous were recently elected officers of Saline Lodge F. & A. M. : W. M., A. M. Clark ; S. W., W. W. Dell ; J. W., A. C. Clak ; Treas., J. W. Kinnon, Jr, ; Secry., D. S. Haüock ; S. D., Orrin Parsons ; J. D., Geo. E. Schairer ; Tyler, C. N. Hows. At a regular meeting of Saline Lodge I. O. O. F., held January 11, the following officers were duly installed in their respective chairs : N. U , E. M. LeBaron ; V. G., il. E. E.isterly ; Sec, D. S. Hallock ; Per. Sec, George K. Fulkerson; Treas., C. Jackson. The Oracle still issues as ever, and is likely too. consideriug the grit of its editor. Saline, Jan. 24.
