A Startling Scene In Church

Last Sunday week, after the first : hymn had been suug in the j tional Church at Geneseo, N. The preacher gave out his text, but his sermón feil on dull ears, and there was gossip without end after the benediction. The gentleman had been summoned homo Trom Albany to look after his danghter, but when he arrived he had luarned that she had rnn away with this lady's aon and been marr ed at Mount Morris a few days before. He was convinced that the elopemeut had been planned by the mother iu-law, and was unablo to represa his indignation iu church.
