At a meeting of physieians to consider the epidemie and ite proper treatmeiit a resolution was offered, the pui-port of which was that no medicines which could be administered wonld prevent diphtlieria, and that the continued administration of tliem i'or any grsat length of time would be injurióos. Dr. Beebee declares tliat tliis was aimed at liis recommendation oí Bulpho-cnrbolate of soda, which, he holds, will destroy the germs of diphtlieria, the blood and tissues being disinfected.
