We have news from the City of Mexico, via Havana, to the (Ith of Febmary. Diaz had boon urged to basten his return to the capital, as the Government v:is in danger of falling to pieces, owing to dissensions in the Cabinet. Business was in a worse condition than ever, and failures were numerous. Some ! of the foreigners who favored the Dinz j revolution had failed, and the new revolution ngainst Diaz was eneouraged by the capitalista, who inake money by loan to the revolutionists at excessive interest. Escalante loaned Diaz $200,000 toward the payment of $300,000 to the ! United States with incoming duties as 1 seeurity, receiving 25,000 interest for ixty days. Bands of robbers were appearing ivcrywhere. Protestant worship had been suspended at Coahuixtla and Morelos by order of the authorities. The Chureh party were triumphant in the eleetions in the capital. The most important position in Miehoacy, Puebla, and Queretaro were held by tlio Chureh party. A petition was circulating praying tlie Government to permit the return of the Sisters of CJhnrity expelled from the country two years ago. Cortina refuses to obey the order to abandon the Texas frontier. He now opposes Diaz. Adviees from Sonora are thatPesquiera attacked Maiisoal's command at Urest The latter was soon reinforced, and Pesquiera was defeated, with a loss of abotu thirty killed, mnny wonnded, and fifty prifloners. At last adviees a largo body of cavalry was pursuing Pesquiera's flying and demoralized forees. It was generally believed that this revolution wns thorougUy squelclied.
