The March nuinber of Harper's Magazine came late to our table, but none the less deserves notioe. The number opens with Contemporiiry Art ín Franoe," with 32 ülustrations, H of them benig portvaits of artiats. soulptors, and architcets, and 21 of them copies of notei paintings, etc. Among the portraits are Gerorue, Messonier, Taine, Dore, and Rosa Bonheur. Other Ilústrate:! papers are : The Prussian Wends and their Home, Litchfield Hill, The Distribution of Animáis, A Summer Cruise among the Atlantic Islands, and Popular Expositioa of Some Scientific Experimenta. The continued serial stories are: A Woman-Hater, IX; Erema, or My Father's Sin, chaps. XVII- XXI ; and Garth, by Julián Hawthorne, chap. XX.
