Hibbard, Esq., of Detroit : Mrs. Brunuow, daughter of Chanoellor Tappan and wife of Dr. F. Brunnow, formerly of Michigan University and late Astronomer Boyal for Ireland, has iiearly completad the translation ot Scheffel's famous poem, entitled "The Trumpeter of Sackingen," aud which has rsached its fiftieth edition in Germany. Scheffel ia poet lauréate of Baden, and nis works are very popular. He has given his approval to the translation. Dr. Brunnow is reslding at present at Basle, in Switzerland. The tianslation will be published in London and New York. In this connection we are happy to be able to say that recent letters received from Mrs. Brunnow contradict the report of her mother's death.
