The annual charter electiOD held ou Monday was a quiet allair and failed to cali out a íull vote. Both parties had f uil tickets in the field, but the figures wiü show that party linea were not cloaely drawn, and that from Justice of the Supreme Court way down to Constable the independent voter exercised his inalienable right to cut and curve at pleasure. Total- yes, 1,227; no, 8. 817 Totes were giren m favor of paying flremen, and 20 againat. Ot the latter 7 were giren in the lat ward, 5 in the 4th, and 8 in the öth ; by mistake it ia charity to presume. - Th majority ïn this city for Judge Cooley was 511 ; for Collier, candidate for Regent, 161 ; and for Maltz, the other Regent candidate, 157. All Republicana.
