The thirty-sixth animal sessíon of the (ieneal Association ot the Congregatioual Churches f Michigan is now being held in this city. 'he opening sermón was given on Tuesday veniug. in the Congregational Church, by lev. Dr. Eddy, of Detroit, írom the text, Wherefore let us go uu and possess it, for we re able to overeóme it," to whioh a large conregation listened with interest. After the sermón the Association effected an rganization by electing the following officers : Moderator - Hon. J. Webster ühilds, oí Aujusta. Assistant Moderator- Rev. J. L. Patton, of Greenville. Scribe- George K. Newcomb, of Saginaw. Assistant Scribe- Rev. C. O. Browu, ot lochester. A large number of delegates, both clerical nd lay, are in atteudance. On Wednesday af ternoon the veied question f the admission of women as delegates was eported rgainst at length, discussed at length nd with considerable spirit, and decided (for ïis meeting) in favor of their admission. Up to this hour, Thursday afternoon, the iroceediugs have been conducted mainly in acordance with the programme published in last week's AEOua. On Wednesday noon the members of the onvention, with the members of the Woman's Missionary Board Convention, wre given a inner by the ladies, in the basement rooms of ie cliurch.
