- No more services will be held at the Unitarian Church until September. - Kev. Mr. Brand, of überlin, Ohio, will preaoh in the Congragatioual Church on Sunday next. - Rev. Dr. Livermore of Meadville, Pa., preached in the tnitariau Chujch oa Sunday last, morning and evening. - The Young Ladies' Society of St. Andrew's Church, netted about $125 by their festivul and íair given at the armory ou Friday eveuing Ia3t. - At the late sessiou of the Cougregational Assocsatiou for this State, held in this city, President Angelí was elected the lay delégate to the National Council, and J. Austin Scott was selected as lus altérnate. - A New Jerusaloin Chnpel was dedicated at Tpaüanti on the 13th inst. Rev. Mr. Laible is pastor and services are held at 4 o'clock p. M. every Saturday. - At its session on Friday af teruoon last, the Cougregational Association adopted the following resolution : Resoloed, That as we are about to turn back from the courtesy and bountifulness of the good people of Ann Arbor and go to our homes, our heartfelt thauks are due and are hereby tendered to the committee oí arrangements of this church and society and the many families of this church and city for their care and hospitahty preceding and during our four days' meeting. The followiug resolution has also been adopted by the local Committee of Arrangements and Reception, representiug the Cougregational Church and Society : Resolved, That in behalf of ourselvea and of the Congregatioual Society, we desire to return our hearty thanks to the members of other denominations and our citizens geuerally, for the kind assistance they reudered us iu eutertaining our guests. The Red Ribbons.- A meeting of the Beform Club was held on Sunday afternoon last, at the usual hour, in the Opera Housp. After the opening exercises the meeting was addressed by Messrs. John Vanee, W. W. Bliss, Geo. Buil, A. L. Aah, and Wm. Noble. President Schumaoher was in attendance, and the exercises were varied by the presentation to him, by Mr. James Murphy, in behalf of the slub, of a gold badge, bearing the inscription : " President Schumacher, presented by the ReEorm Club, May 20, 1877." R, E. Frazer, Esq., ftras announced as the speaker for next Suniay aiternoon. Go and hear him. - This evening Mr8. L. Youmans. of Canala, a very popular speaker, will talie on the :emperance question, at the Opera House this :vening, under the auspices of the Ladies' Jhristiau Temperance Union. The members f the Reform Club and citizens generally are uvited to go and hear her. During Tuesday night last a colored man ïamed Leighton went to the residence of Capt. Salleck, of Ypsilanti, where his wife was at vork, and importuned her to live with him Lgain. She refusing he drew a hatchet sayng ha had fixed one man and would fix her She screamed and wakened Capt. Halleck irho got out of bed, took a small pistol, and vent into the room. Leighton made for the Captain who fired, hitting the negro in the lead, and dropping him upon the floor. Suposing that he had killed his assailant Capt. 5. turned to go out of the room, but the nero attempting to get up he hit him with a itone, subdued him, and then went out and ot an officer, who took him to the lock-up. The ball did not penétrate the skull, but went 'our informant said) one and a half times iround it, under the scalp, but at our sugges;iou made it half around. Peesokal.- Hon. Charle S. May, of Deiroit, was in our city on Wednesday, looking ifter the iuterests of a cliënt in the Probate Oourt. - Our oíd f ello w citizen Hon. Donald Mclntyre, now of Johnstown, N. Y., has been in the áty this week. - Senator Christiancy and Hon. William L. Webber arrived here on Wednesday afternoon, md yesterday were engaged in working up that chancery suit. They expresa a determiuation to get at the " true inwardness" of the matter if possible. - Kev. C. H. Brigham has been able to ride out each day during the week, and yesterday walked down town. To-day he will start for the East, stopping over a few days in Detroit. Obituaby. - Warren Hamilton, Esq., of this city, died on Friday last, after an illness ot a year, of disease of the liver and heart, as shown by a post mortem examination. Mr. Hamilton was born in Pelham, Mass., June 18, 1816, and lacked just one month of being 61 years old. In 1834 he carne to this couuty and settled in Salem, where he married and lived until he removed to this city about nine years ago. He was for several years a director and for two years secretary of the Washtenaw Mutual Fire Insurance Compauy, since which until taken sick he was engaged in business for the Watertown Fire Insurance Company. He was much respectad by all who knew him. He leaves a widow and three children, one of whom is A. W. Hamilton, of the firm of Frazer & Hamilton, of this city. After funeral services at the Presbyteriau Church on Sunday forenoon his remainB were taken to Salem for mterment, the Rev. Mr. Gelston officiating at the services in the Congregational Church of that towu.
