Baker, Davis & Co., Philadelphia, Pa. ___ De. Beioham- Appbeciative Words.- The Christian Register, of Boston, one of the leading journals representing the Uuitarian denomination, says of Bev. C. H. Brigham : " The news of his illness has made a profound sensation throughout our deuomination, and in the regions where he is most widely known. There has been something very impressive in the eagerness with which every fact relating to his condition has been sought for by muny deeply interested Iriends and brethren. ■' While we hope that Mr. Brigham will be pennitted to render many more scholarly services to the world, we cannot forget that already he ñas done the work of several strong men. We do not believe that there is a man of his age in America who has lost less time or giveu more hours to study and labor. Our church at Taunton still bears witness to his pulpit and pastoral ñdelity during a long settlemeut. At Aun Albor he has become the teacher and friend of thousands of young men who owe to him rational views of the Bible, iucreasing reverence and love for God, and fresh interest in the welfare of their fellow men. "To the Register Mr. Brigham has been inval uable. For several years he has been our chief critic of new books aud periodicals. Includiug occasional editorials and letters, his contributions must have averaged neariy 100 columns & year. It seems strange not to be sending more hundios to this insatiable reader, aud uot to dare to hope that he cau soou resume his ever-welcome co-operation. Excepting in the circles of kindred there are few places where his misfortune can be so constantly and tenderly borne in miud as at this office, where there is so much to remind us of his diligence, akill, and cordial friendship."
