Noxt morniug tho mystery was solved. There was an editorial note in th; first ooltimn as follows: ' ' The Hart Brothers were arrested yesterday, at , for def'ramling their oreditors. They were evidently, as the poet says, ' Two Harte that beat as one.' " Half-way down tbo same page was anothcr editorial paragraph, as föllows: "Two. Harte tliat beat their creditors liko one, or cvph more, were arrestcd yesterday, r.t - - . Lot us liopc tliat I" npJiifous ,)iu1l-(' will, in the words of Cicero, Socettnnm." Over on tbc secoud column there was a display heading, in big black type: " Two Hart That Beat Liko One;" away down at the loot of the third column was a little item, surreptitiously inserted by tiio advertising clerk, about two hearts that beat as one, a,nd halt way down the. fouïth was a letter f rom " T.
