It is estimatal by a competent treasury nutbority that the total nmount of gold aml silver in the Unitd States at tliis time is $225,000,000. Tlie inerease during the ñscal year cnding June 30 is supposed to have been not less than $45,000,000. The importa of gold and silver coin and bullion have about equaled the exports, and, as the balance of trade is beeoming more and more pronounced in favor of the United States, it is belioved that the. accirmulflüon of specie in this country will continue during the ensuing year ut a more rtipid rato than heretofore, so that wlien the time fixod lor resumption comes mud there will be an abundance of the precions metáis available. ]r.
