A dispatch has been received at army lieadquarters in Chicago, steitiug that Oapt. Nolan and the survivors of his company have turned up at Fort Concho, in the western central part of Texas. Some days ago this command was sent out on a scouting expedí tion to f olio w up the trail of some marauding Indians and thieves. There were some sixty inen in the party, mounted, all told. When out upon the arid desert they lost their way, and, -worse than all, ran out of food and water. In a strenge ountry, lost and far away from any aid, hese men wandered over a desert, sandy vaste, without shelter. Becoming fevered from exposure and starvation and ,he lack of water to quench their burniig thirst, they scattered, none knew whither. Their privations and snft'orngs no pen can picture or tongue oan ;ell. Tor eighty-six long and mournful lours they endured without a mouthful ,o eat or drink. By dint of coolness and ïopeful courage Capt. Nolau kept most of his men together, and yesterday the dings came that most of them were safe. Two of the soldiers perished and ihree are missing, they probably having lied on the plain. Porty horses and mules died of the stock with tlie party.
