Of John Clancy and others, for sidewalk on north side of Huron street, in front of Iots 1, 2, 3 and 4, in block 1 uorth range 12 east. To Sidewalk Cominittee. Prom A. W. Mclntyre, Captain of Relief Fire Co., relativo to the more efficiënt protection of the city f rom flres, and asked the appointment of a committee to take into consideration the matter of putting the tire departmeut in a more effective coudition. Accepted, and committee appointed consistiug of Aid. Besimer, Gott, and Woodruff. General Fund- Reeommending that Chief Eugineer be authorized to purohase 500 feet of new rubber hose for use of fire departmeut, at an expense not to exceed 90 cents per foot. After considérale diacussion the amount was reduced to 300 feet, aud then the report was adopted. Sidewalís- Submitting a hst of dilapidated sidewalks in vanous parts of the city, reeommending the rebuilding of same under direction of Sidewalk Committee. Adopted. PBOM CITY OFFICUKS. The monthly statement of tho Recorder, of the amount of warrauts drawu on the several funda for the fiscal yoar, shows the . General fund, f 3,606.47 ; General Street. 00,71; First ward, 169.63; Second ward, 478.91 ; Third ward, Í727.08 ; Fourth ward, 700.12; Fifth ward, Í179.14; Sixth ward, 298.81 ; Cemetery, f8.81 ; Firemeu, 485.00 ; Contiugent, $2,639.53. Filed. The mouthly report of Marshal Johnson, for August, showa that four arrrests were made by the pólice, of which oue was for laroeny and three were for benig druuk and disorderlv Filed. r ' From same, giving amount of aid disbursed among the city poor iu the several wards, as follows: First w.ird, $11.71; Second, $4.60. Adopted. By Aid. Cate, that a committee of three be appointed to negotiate a lease, for one year, of the grounds used for the hay and wood market. Adopted, and Aid. Cate, ürtman, and McDonald appoiuted committee. By Aid. Cate, that City Attorney be directed to prosecute to a jud2mont the claim agaiust ex-Recorder Lovejoy, aniountm.', to $1,478 or thereabouts. Adopted.
