ïhis village was startled thia raorniuf (Wednesday, Oct, 17,) by the sudden deathi G. Kodney Palmer, Esq. Mr. Palmer had been quite unwell dulriiig the night, and ai about 5 o'clock in tho mormug he aróse anc started, accompanied by his wife, to go anc eee the doctor. They had gone but a short dietauce when Mr. Palmer auddenly feil over and died instantly in the atreet. Last Saturday night Manchester was visiteo by burglars. The house of George Hoy was entered and Mr. Hoy'a pocket-book robbed of about two dollars in moiiey, but oothing else was aecured by the robbers. These hght-fingered gentry also paid the residence of Drtoot a visit during the same evening. The Joctor hearing & uoiae in his office arose to nvestigate the cause and alarmed the robbers, who immediately took their departure, without securiug any booty, not however until the )octor had sent two bullets from his revolver after thern.
