A large and iuterested audience gathered at the Opera House on Wednesday evening, to wituess the presentation of the banuer procured by the ladies oí this city fot Company A. The programme consistid oí music by the Mmnis orcheBtra ; prayer by the Eev. Wyllys Hall, Cliaplain of the First Regiment; the preseutation speech by Gol. Burleigh, brief and ap[ropnate ; and the response by Capt Revenaugh. Alter the exercises there was a Social Hop at the armory, which was largely atteuded. The Detroit Free Press some days ago gave the following description of the standard : "It is oí blue silk, doublé, six ieet and six inches by six feet. On one side is the Mishigan coat of arm, and on the reverse is the inscription, ' Company A, First Begiment, Michigan State Troops. lJresented by the ladies oi Ann Arbor.' This beautit'ul device is mounted on a patent-joint staff, surmounted with a solid brass fire gilt eagle. The trimmings are bullïon friuge two and three-quarter inches long. The cost of this beautiful gift (which is now on exhibitiou at Dean, Brow & Godfrey'sJ, was $150." At the next regimental gathering Company A will take pride in displayingits colors: the more 80 because the voluntary offering of the ladies.
