There was a mighty fall in the Senate to-day. Senator Maxey with much warmth was eloquentíy depicting the grievances of Texas people by reason of frequent incursions on their territory by Mexican Greasers. The big heart of Senator Davis, of Illinois, was touched, and leaving his own seat he passed over nearer Maxcy's position and planted himself in a seat made for ordinary Senators. He had no sooner got into the seat than the cane-seat ripped away like so much paper, and the spectacle was presented to the dignifled Senate of David Davis, weighing over 300 pounds, jammed into a position too small by odds to oontain his adipose, with his feet elevated, head down, pantaloons torn, and helpless us a child until righted by his ooileagues. He looked after the accident very much like a school-boy who had been the victim of a practical joke at the hands of his fellows. Of course Senators didn't laugk, bnt the galleries broke out iu a guüaw. - Washington Cor. (Hncinnuti Énquirer.
