Apropos of bravery, what woiild mothers East tliink of the experience of a little fair-haired boy of 13 in cump ? This little fellow startod from Deuver, Col. , with his pony, and made the trip all the way to the Black Hills alone and on horBoback, a distantie of over 300 miles, priucipally throngh desolate plains or Indian country. He carne in search of bis father, from whom he had not heard for somc time. He found him "dead-broke," as so many are here. Tlie father took possession of the little fellow's pony, sold it, aud soon spent the money, leaVirifl the cluld destitute. He tried to get something to do, but was unable on account of his age.
