Three gentlemen - Kobert Hardie, formerly oí Glasgow, Joha James of Edinbmg, Scotlaud, aud. James G. Cooper, of New York city - have beon quietly at work some tbree months at Williám Wright's Engine Works, Ncwburg, building ;' street-oar, which they conlidently expect will prove a solution of the vexed qnestion of rapid transit iu large citics.
