A remarkable trial occupied the attenti?n of the Circuit Oourt Friday and Saturday. One of our physicians sued one of the ministers f or medical services rendered the f amily of the latter. The defense -was set up that it was the custom of the physicians to attend the families of ministers without compensation, and that the doctor had stated that he would make no charge in this instance. The testimony disclosed pretty clearly that the plaintiff had not intended to make any charge at the time, and that the entrics of his charges were all made on the same day, long after the services were rendered. It was generally understood that the doctor, who had been divorced from a fornier wife, was paying his ácldresses to the daughter of the def endant, and, upon her ref usal to marry him, he resolved to take his revenge by compelling her father to pay a doctor's bill amounting to $95. The attempt was a failure. The jury brought in a verdict for the defendant on Saturday night. The contending parties were members of the Presbyterian church of this place. The trial attracted much attention, and caused considerable gossip that was calculated to bring discredit upon both parties.- Vevay (Ittd.) Cor, Cinoinnati Commercial.
