A few clays ago internal-revenue offl oers went to the residence of Mrs. Lydia Wings, of TaBwell county, Va.,fortue purposo f arresting her, on charges o illicit distilling and violatirig the whis ky iaws. They found her in bed. She refused to get up, and told them if the; wanted her tliey would have to take her by force. In tbis dilemma two offl cers promptly set to work. While one pulled on her stookinga, and gar ters, and shoes, the other hauled her to a sittmg positie, and bunglingly en deavored to put a mp.ss of skirts, waists dresses, and other artiolcs of attiro in their proper placea. A s soon as the ofti cers had put on as mny clothes as the; supposed a woman t-liould wear, the; stood her up, shook out her ekirts, tied a shawl about her head, and oarried he between them to the couuty jail.
