The various terms used in treatiug of bullion, mints, coinage, and raoney, are defined aud explained ; the history of the "dollar of the daddies" and of all other dollars isaued by authority of the Government aiuce the adoption of the (Jonstitutton, whether coin or paper, is traced through the succossiv acts of legislatiou ; and in an appendix the author'gives the aggregate production of silver, general summary of the movements of silver, use of silver for purposes of manufacture, nations and population under the three systems(gold, gold aud silver coin, silver), ratios of gold to silver from 1760 to 183,3, yeaily averages of silver from 1834 to 1876, total coinage of the United States mints to June 30, 1877, etc. It is safe to say that Mr. Linderman does not favor the full remonetization of silver, aud that he gives good and convincing reasons for his conclusions and convictions.
