During the past week the wholosale dry goods trade has been more active at the low ruling prices. Tlie pnut market continúes unsettled, Pacific, Anicricans, Spragues, Allons Richmonds, Dunuells, Manchester and shirtings havo been marked down to 5 l-2c, Harmony óo, while for doublé pinka Cao' l-2c is skcd. Spi ing goods are now iu stock ; among them aro some very effective style3 of medium fancius, lately turned out, which are favorably received by buyers of choice calicóes. Somo diagonal and shaded eftocts exhibited are very novel. There is no change of special importance io woolen goods. Tho drug business haa undergone an mprovement during the past week, though business is by no means as brisk as usual at this stage of the senson. The steady tone of prices which lias characterized this market for some timo past is no longer notinl. Peru balsam has declined to $1.75, bi-chromate of potash to 1 Ga 18c, bromido of potash to 62a5öe, reh'ned borax to Ilal2c, glycerine, C. P., by can, to 18 l-2c, hemp seed óc, iod potash, American, $3.30, licorice, extract, P. S., 33c, sulphato morphine $4, oil of bergamot Í3.75, oil of wiutergreen $2.75. Quiuino is very iirm at ?3 per ounco, and manufacturers are not disposed to selt large quantities or make contracta. Üpium (Turkoy) is held at $4.8, whilo for castor oil and doverpowdor foruier prices are shaded a (rifle. Canary seod is very iirm. Cubebs have advanced 1i2c per lb., and it is reported that the stock East is vorv light. Cuttlelish bone is Orm and soiree. The eastern snpply is controlled by two Xew York houses. There is, however, somo Kast India bone in market which is somewhat broken and off color, that is beinj; ofterod at a low rato. Ipecac root is out of first hands and prices have advauced. Virginia suakeroot is vory scarce and 45c is now asked. Pink root is nourly out of markot, and dealers are askm ójaCOc per lb. The deinaud for pure white lead haa iinproved and priuc3 have hardünecl, dealers aákiug 8 l-2c per lb. The hardwuro trede continuos quiot, and values uuchanged. In groceries there has baen a fair trade, with values generally steady. Teas, cuiïoes and BPÍO08 are ürmly hold. The receipts ot' flour and graiu for the week under review, were as follows: Flour, C,421 bbls.; wheat, 78,997 bu.; corn, 1,312 bu.; oats, 4,77bu.; barley, ü,82( centals; rye, 260 bu. The shipments wore : Flour, 4,718 bbls.; whoat, 80,841 bu.; corn, 3,827 lm.; oats, 1,317 bu.; barley, 3,701 centals. The movement in dreased hogs has boon light, and sales mostly at H 2"n t 35 per cwt. Ers are ilull at 13c por doz. fur fresh receipts ; other stock unsalable. The receipts of poultry have jeen vory light, with dmand fair at 9al0c jer lb. for chickens ; turkeys, lla 12 l-2c perlb.
