The Superintendent of Public Iustruetion hiis ftppeiuted u Teachers' lustitute for Washtenaw County, to be held at Dextcr, commeiicing at 2 p. m. Alonüay April 1, 1878 aud closiug Friday eveuing of the .same week. All teachers, aud those inteuding to teach daring Lhe coming ycar, towuship superintendents, and directora should, if possible, be present. The exercises during the day will consist of eetures on scliool governmont, discipline and best methods of instruction, illustrated by class drills in the common English braaches. In the evening, leotures designed to interest the public geuerally will be delivered. l'ree entertainment is offered by the citizena of Dexter, to all teachers in reijular atlendance at the Iiistititte. It will bo conducted by H. E. Kratz, of Dexter, who has secured tho followiug lecturers : Prof. Edward Olney, of the University ; Prof. Daniel Putnam, of the State Normal School ; Prof. Walter S. Perry, Supt. of Ann Ailjor Public Schools ; Miss Lucy A. tendón, of Aun Arbor Public Schools; Prof. B. 10. Xichols, of Aun Aïbor l'ublic Schools ; aud Dr. J. B. Stecre, oL the Uuiversity. Every cffort will bo made to reader tho Instituto oi practical valué to teachers.
