The Students "neutral."
At a meeting of the students of the Mudical Departmeut of the tTniversity, held April 'i, the fullowing rcBolution was adopted : Wherkas, The statement has beou made iu a public print that tho students of the Uuiversity were dissatisfied at the non-reinstatement of Dr. Kost!, Resolved, That so far as the studonts of the Medical Department are coucerned the statement is entirely unfouuded ; and whereas, we are higfaly satistÃed with the work of Dr. Vsughau, it would be with the greatest regret that we should hear ot his leaving the tlniversity, as ,we believe lie is an honor to the institution,- yet we wish to remain neutral in regard to Dr. Boae, although we would most heartily concur iu his remstateineiit, provided he be innocent, as claimed by part of the Board of Regents. Dr. Maclean's pages, entitled " Surgery as it Was and Is ", was short aud to the poiut. The Dr. 8aid there was no greater contrast between the railroud palace car and the lumber wagon as a means of transit, than between the surgery of to-day with anicuthetics and that of eome 30 yeara ago without it; he wondered what the leading surgeons of a few years back (who wrote that to attempt the removal of au ovarÃan tumor with the knife was either foolishnes or insanity) would if they could see five out of soveu recover form the operatiou.
