State Firemen's Association

The fourth animal couvention of the Michigan State Firemen's Association will be held at Firemen's Hall, iu the city of Juckson, on Wednesday, May 1, 1878, at 11 o'clock a. m , for the election ot officers and the transactiou of euch other business as may come before the association. Papers will be read on various subjects relative to fire matters. The objects of this association are : the proteotion and promotion of the best interest of the firemen of Michigan ; the coinpilation of fire statistics; the collectiou of informatiou conceruing the practical working of different systems of organization ; the cxamination of, aud inquiry soncerning the merits of the different kinds of fire apparatus iu use, aud the improvement in the same ; and the cultivation of a fraternal fellowship between the different corapanies in the State. Reports will be expected from Comniittees on Legislation, Fire Apparatas and Water Supply. Each department belonging to the aesooiation will be entitled to three delegates, with the Chief as delégate at large. The initiation fee for meinbership is $5 for ench department and f2 annually as dues. Board may be procured at the hotels at retí uced rates. The various railroads throughout the State will give reduced rates to delegates who are provided with certificates from the Chief Engineer of their department.
