The Normal School
A. new departure is reported at the State Normal School, and, in accordance with the recommendations of prominent educational men, the academie course is to be abolished, and the work of the school confined to three one year courses of purely professional work. The School of Observation and Practice is to be made complete in opportunities for practice in teaching all the branches pursued in the public schools of the State. The teaching in the department is to be done wholly by the teachers-intraining in the Norjnal department, under the supervisión of the heads of the special departments of study as critics.
