The Board of Supervisors met in called ses sion on Monday Iaat nt Firemen's Hall. The Clerk called the Bonrd to order nt 11 a. m. and Supervisor Teek ley, of Ypsilanti, was clected temporary chairman, after whicli ai adjournment was taken to 1 1-2 p. m. Board mot at 1 1-2 p. iu.( and on motiou jiro ceeded to elact a chairmau by ballot. Twentyfour membera voted as follows : For George S. Wheeler, 16 ; for Daniel Le Baron, 3 ; for J. J. Hobiaon, 2 ; for V. I. Yeokloy, Horntio Burch, and Charles Whitaker, 1 each. Ui Whealèr was declarad elacted. Mr. Robiaon moved that a committes oi threo be appointed to examine the books o1 the Treasurer and ascoitmu whtit auiount the Building I'und is deficiënt, at what period suoh defioiency ocourred, and to report a method ot providing forsuch deficisney. Carried and M' ssrs. Robison, Yeckley, and Ball appointed. Judge Lawrence, chairman of the Building Committee, reported expenrliimea to date, as follows : Paid contractors on oatimnte, $29,686 98 Advanced on next estnoatn, 3,000 00 Total, f 32.686 98 l'aid Mr. Buutuig, architect, 2,321 61 Total to contractors aud architect, $3ó,008 49 He also iuvited the atteution of the Boaid to heatiug apparatus, furniture for Court House, cietern and mode of conductiug water, water closets and plumbing, fiuishiug the basement, gas pipe and fixturus, statues (contractors furuishing one gratis, aud treos in square. On motion Messrs. Youug", Gregory, Galpin, Burch, and Wheeler, were appointed a committce to confer with the Building Committee and report upon the mattere preaeutod. Adjourned to 9 a. ra. Tuosday. Tuesday, May 28, 1878. Uoaril met at !) a. m. Mr. Krapf, from the Cominittoe ou Clock, made a report which was accopted and Iaid on the table. Mr. Bobisou, from Comniittee to examine books of the Treasurer, reported condition of the several accouuts as folluwe : On hand. Overdrawn, Salaries of Co. At a later hour in tha eossion the committee made nnotUer report, saying of tha above deiciency, 14,397.32 is chargeable to overpaynents iu 1876, and $7,681.91 to overpayments n 1877, or rather to the paymeut of orders egularly drawu but nol provided for. ïlie following retolutinn was adopted : Resolved, That the County Treaaurer bu einpnwered to borrow such sums of mouey as will be needed to replaee dcficiencies and meot the current expenses of the county until the next sessiou oi tbc Board. On ïuotion ot Mr. Yeokley the uhairman of the Board and the Ulerk wera authorized to contract with the Houso of Oorreotion at Dotroit for keeping prisouers aent from this county. That the Building Oommittee be authorized to pipe the building Uñ g;is and procure íixtures. Adoptod. '1. That the eourt mum ba heated with pateut ventilating heaters or cual stoves, aud tht the offices be heated vvith coal etoves. Adoptad, tlia Building Committee to make the purchases. 3. That the Building Committee be iustructed to coustruot a cisteru on the Oourt Houbo square of a oapaoity iiot less thau 800 barrels, and provide suitable sewerage, privies, and water cioaets. Adopted. 4. That the county furnish two statues for the building at a cost not exceediug $175 each, provided that two bu furnished by other means. Rejtcted. ■ 5. That the Building Committee be instructed to finish the basement. Rejected. 6. That the Building Committee be authorized and instructed to procure proper and suitable furniture lor the Court House at a cost not to exceed $2,000. Adopted. Mr. Teckley moved that the Building Ccmmittee be instructed to substituto hard wood in place of pine for inside finish of court room and the offices of Clerk, Judge of Probate, Rsgister, aud Treasurer, provided the same can be done without great additional expense to the couuty. Carried. Ou motion of Mr. Le Baron the report of Committee on Clock was taken from the table and referred back to committee with instructions to review their action if within their power ; and on further motion said committee was iustructed to sigu no contract without Consulting with Mr. James. Mr. Robisun moved that each Supervisor add the uame of each dog owuer to his voll, and carry out the dog tax. Lost. Mr. Robiíon moved that the Building Committee be authonzed to substituto patent rolling steel shutters. Lost. Mr. Atkinsou was allowed $2 a dny for his Bervices as janitor. Adjourued sme che.
