- Cal. Thomas, of '74, now in Gsruiauy, has been appointed instructor ia Greek, at a salary of $900. Acceptauce not yet filed. - The Executive Committee has selected Prof. J. M. B. Sill, of Detroit, as the referee of the Regents in the divisiou of the Beal-Steere collectiou, with Prof. Kost, of Adrián College, as his altérnate. - The recitation room of Prof. Beman, in south college, adjoiuing Steward Bennett's room, is being ütted up for Treasurer Tolchard, and will be conuected with the Steward's room, both ofiicers having access to the vault. - T. B. ühase, of Detroit, of the class of 'ó8, and for many years the efficiënt necrologist of the Alumni Association, has been appointed to supervise the compiling of the general catalogue which the Ilegents at their last sesaiou ordered pubhshed. - l'rof. Watsan lelt on Monday evening tor Crestón, Wyoming, to observe the total eclipse of the sun set down for July '29. He will 11 make an effort " to discover that new planet which he holds with Leverrier nittkes its circuit between Mercury and the sun. - The forthcoming auuouncement of the Homeopathie Medical College will show the following assistants : George A. Taber in experimental Pathogenesy, Clark De Muth in Materia Medica and Therapeutics, and William Watts in Principies and Practica of Surgery. - Dr. Angelí and farnily, Dr. Dunster aud family, and Mrs. Cuoley and daughter left yesterday for a trip down the St. Lawrence and to the sea-shore at Block Islaud. A portion of the party will make the excursión up the Saugenay, joining the others at or near Mt. Mansfield, Vt. Prof. Donison accompanies the party. - The failure to name Prof. Pettee in the report of the Fiuance Committee on salaries did uot legislate him out of hia professorship. So the Executive Committee decides. The samo committee holds that providing an instructor m Greek abolïshed the assistant professorship aud legislated Prof. Pattengül out of a place. Didn't it leave him in place at his old salary of $1,800.
