lhe chief plan of the catupaign laid out by the Republican managers of' this State is evidently the old or sucoessful one of placing the Democratie party on the defensive. In proof of this wr point to the New York Times- Windoui, and appropriations bugaboo, now beiug circulated as a supplement to all country papers of Eepublican proclivities. Two yeare since the Democratie party talled of pursuing an aggressive course, but made very littlo progross, chiefly owing to the shoal of falsehoods driven in their path every day or two by their persistent and unrelentless enemy. It is not too late to reverse this state of things, and the Democratie managers should proceed without loss of time to bring 8pefiific charges against the Republican party and foree it to trial. The robberies and jobberies, the custom house frauda, the Indian frauds, the naval frauds, the treasury frauds, and last, but not least, the Presidential fraud, omitting the thousand and one lesser crimes, whereby the working man has been robbed and the industries of the country paralyzed, will be the biggest kind of a mountain for the radicáis to cliinb. In fact the Democratie party can place so many obstacles in their way, that long before the half way house on the mountain is within reach, they will find the storm sogreat that an ignominious retreat must result. It is political madness to allow them to drag finance, southern war claims, and other minor quostions into the light. They must be arraigned for their great crimes, brought into court and tried. The people will render a verdict and pronounoe sentence on the öth day of November. - Pontiac Bill Poster.
