Of Hillsdale is the Deinocrat candidote for Congress iu this district. Mr. Card is well kuowii and desorvedly popular in his seotion. Hu was triumphantly electod as Mayor of Hillsdalo, wben the city aud county were hopelessly Republican. It is uow thoroughly Greenback, or Democratie, the comiug (lection uiust determine whiob. One thing is certain, it ie lost to the Republieans. with the great chauge that has taken place in the southern part of the district, the show for the election of a Deinocrat is good, if the party will pull true. Thore is no good reason why they should not. With a Cougress Democratie in both housos reforms can be effected that will be impossible with a house divided, and "Nationals" holding the balance of power. Tho next Senate is irrevocably Democratie, and no Democrat should cast a vote to prevent the House from being so. Let us give the old party a fair chance, and theu tiold it to astrict accountability. - Ypsi'anti Sentinel. After eigbteeu years of hard lighting and struggling, and after being de'rauded two years ago of the only great viotory the Democratie party won durng that long term, the Dduiocrats are not going to deliberately abandon the ield to their Republicau foe by supjorting and sustaining a party cotuposed f sore heads and demagogues, and ased on barren ideas. Deiuoorats are oo sensible for that.- l'ontiae Bill Potter
