NI..1MI DKS.UliKli, OUJO&ITA Í'AHIHU, LA.,) -Tuly 'J4. ( As Eliza riukston has been agaiu brought beforo the public, and as there is tbis time Sonic truth iu her statemont, I deern it n iit time for mo to stato a few facts nevor before made public. Early the morning af ter her lniRbaud was killed and she wounded, I n as sent for to see her in baste. Arriving at the place, I found her in a negro quartor, lying on a pallet, much excited and alarmcd. Hefore examiuing and dressing her wouiids, rhe told me Ilonry Pinkston had boen killed, and that nhe wan hadly wonnded, and believod that she was going to die. I siiid to her that 1 wantod her, before 1 did auyIhing for her, to teil all about it, and teil me Ihe truth, aud who they were that did it. Sht told me ihe wonld teil me the honest truth ; as she did not expect to live, tshe would teil me tho " solid truth." She said : ''Fiftsen or twenty nocroes camo to our house some time hef ore daythls morniug and killed Henry and woundod me, as you now gee." 6he said she was positivo that it was none bnt ncgroes that did It all. Wben she aaid tilia a negro womau in tho quarter said to her that che wiahed they wotild codïo back tbat uight and finish lier, and that ehe herself had a good miud to taks ip something and kill her as ühelay thore. Eliza ald to me, "See thcre : thoy want to kil! me beoanse I will teil tho truth and say it was uegroes tliat killed Henry." X txamïned and dreseed ber woiinds, fmdiiig but one woimd oö her pemil that was, or might becomo, seiioüH. Bhe remained in the neighb irhood several dayp, nalkiiig about from place to placo until she wa carrk-d to New Orleans. I Btate in all candor, as a phyüloian and HiirgcoD, that there was nothing in her case that would necensai ily prevent her from going whore she wished, or that would confine her to aroom. I make this statement ín as brief and Himple a manner as poaBible, saying notbing about how ehe was wounded, as this 18 not the proper place to do It. I am a jjhysieian of nearly thirty years activo practice, and am weli known is a largo portion of this Htate. Can give the best of references in this State as to my intogrity. I refer t) the Hon. B. L. Gibson, tlie Hoa. Lowis Jiiish, the Hon. S F. Goode, Bishop Cener, the liev. Linas Parker, D. D.. .Tndge Kobert Ray, the Hon. C. B. Wheeler, and to the entire communityin which I live. A. !■;.
