- The exainiuatioDS of upplicants for admission cominenced yesterday aud will continue during to-day, Saturday, Monday, aud Tuesday. The college year will open on Wednesday. This in the Department ot Literature, Science, and the Arts. - Byron W. Uheever, of this city, a gradúate ot both the Literary and Law Departments, has been appointed assistant in the Ghemicul Laboratory, viee S. T. Douglas, resi{iied. - M. W. Harringtou, formerly assistant proiessor in charge of Zoology aud Botauy, but later professor in the Boyal Uoiversity át Pekín, China, is now visiting his frieuds here. - Calvin Thomas, of '74, has returned from Europe, and will enter upon duty as instructor in Qreek at the opening of the term. - The several professional departments or schools will open on Tuesüay, üctober 1.
