The vendetta, occorchng to a i renchman who has lately visited the island, bas lost none of its strength or ferocity in Corsica, owing, no doubt, to its isolated position and removal from the direct influences of civilizution. The writer says Corsica is stibstantially what is was '200 years ago, and that the people in the interior are little less than sajvagpa, beilkg deplorably igaorant, indifferent to law, incasable OÍ self-restraint, and governed by traditions.
