The lecturer gava a vivid descriptiou of scènes comiug under his persoual observatiou duriug the siege of the Paris aud tha subsequent reigu oi: the Commuue : descriptions which will impress themselves upou the mind of the hearer for a long time. The manner of the lecturer was uot commeudable without reserve : smacking a little of affectatiou aud stilted dignity.
