At a meeting of the Aun Arbor Medicnl and I Surgical Society held on Tuesday eveuinp, the following r9olution9 wore unanimously ailopted : YVtiereas, A distioguished meiuber of the Medical Frnternity of our State aad an Houorary inember of this society, eminent respected, and beloved alike lor h is professional devotiou, loarmng and skil], i'or Jiia social virtues, lus patriotic sacrifices and every quhlity which adorna mui blesses huinanity, bas paased to his rest and reward, therefore, Iiesohed, That the members of this society deeply feel as a personal loss to themselres, - as a loss to the departmrnt of Medicine and Surgery of the University, whose flrni, consistent, and ardeut friend he bas ever been, - as a loss to the profemion and the people of the State and the country, to whose wants he has devoted an active and taburious lite, - aud as a loss to the cause of benevolence aucï humanity, the death of Dr. J. H. Beech, of Coldwater. Resolved, That as an expressiou of our sorrow aud our high appreciation of his exceptional goodness and worth, that these resotutiuns be spread upou the minutes of this society, and that a copy properly engrossed and sitfued be sent to his bereaved faniily, to the Michigan Medical News, and to the papers of Anu Arbor aud Coldwater.
