- Prof. D'üoge preached in the Congregational Church ou Sunday morning last. The recent Uuitariau Conference at Charlotte voted in favor of the taxation of all church property. - Rev. R. B. Pope, of the M. E. Church, preached especially to the children last Sunday morning, but the older members of his congregatiou might well have considered themselves instructed uud admonished in more than one respect. With the deacons and elderB smoking, chewiug, etc., it will be a wonder if the boys of the congregatiou don't do likewise, despits the pastor' teachingi.
