A terrible flglit with a bull took place recently ut Mr. Glover's furin near Chorley. A collier, named Frith, was i drinking with ono of Mr. Glover's sons, wlien the latter bet half a crown that Frith daré not feteh his father's bull from the field to the shippen. Frith proceeded tó fnlfill his task, and, as a inonsuiv of preeaution, took with him a hay-fork. As soon as Frith approached tiic. bull it attacked him furiously, and (ltíl'euded himself bv thrusting the prongs oí the fork into the auimal's nostrils. This made the bull more furiou8, and. releasing itself, it niade another dásh at Frith, and caught him wiflh its horas ju the lower part of tho lxxïy, tossing him iu the air. Aterrible gash was inflicted on the poor fellow, a largo piece of flesh being torn away. As j sopn as Frith alighted on thc ground tlio bull knelt on him, and the men watching wefe afraid to interfere until they set a largo dog on the irifuriated bull, which seized it by the nose, causing the "vicieus animal to get np. Poor Frith was then rescued, and presented i sliocking appearance. A doctor was ralleil in, and, although the sufferer is iu a precarious state, hopes are entertained that he niay recover. - Manc!ieter {Eng.) Guardian.
