The Mcgarrahan Claim
Senator Garland, of Arlsansas, hasprepared a bilĂ b.y whieh it is hoped the famous McGarrahan caso will be finally dismissed from Congress, where, without positive action, it seemg dentined to live forever. Senator Garl&nd proposes to send the case to the Court of Claims, with tlie rigiit to appeal to the Supreme Court. His bill is in the interest of the ITnited States, and pro vides that the Court of Claims shall also take intoconsideration tho rights of the (Tovernroijit in the case, since it is held by some excellent lawyers that ueither McGarrahan nor the New Idria Company have valid claims to the land in controversy.
