Tliero has been a decided increase in the exportation of American produce and live stock daling the past year. The Bureau of Statistics at Washington has returns to the 31st of October, in full, and a circular containing the information will be published in a few days. The following is a comparativo statement of the value of agricul&tral implements exported from this country during the first ten months of 1878 and the corTesponding months of 1877 : Ib78. 1877. Barley $ l,U0.1M $ 1,( 54,041 Bread nul biaeait í1!.7: Indlan rorn -10.1 15.NS-1 08,108,080 Oats 1 .9119.850 470,901 Rje 2,989,748 1.840,767 WKeat 102.8S8.9f3 Rl.ij;5,(lhO Wh)?at flour , 22.27S.9S7 16,897.788 'i ■ .. 1 ■., - t ,ri-o,o#j It will be seen by the above tables that there is scarcely an article of merchandise the amount of which ezported has not largely increased during the past year, and in some of the great articles of export the increase is enormous. 1 It will be seen that the shipuoents of wheat, have more than doubled, which Í is also the case with rye, and the pre pared breadstuffs (which includes fariña : and other articles of f ood manufactura!) i have increased more than three times ; [ the exportation of oats has increased nearly five times, while other bread stuffs show large gains. Tho large inorease in the shipments of horned cattle will also be uoticed, while the shipments of horses have doubled. The exports of unmanufaotured cotj ton increased 30 per cent., while the exports of inanufactured cotton were equal in all items to the previons year. The shipments of leather increased about 25 per cent., aml those of oils show a similar increase. The amount of lard oil exported in 1877 was $376,477, while that in 1878 was $1,074,459. The export of bacon increased 25 per cent., and the same may be said of fish.
