During the trial the prisoner was compelled to exposé his arm and show cer; tain marks that a witnews asserted were í there, thus proving his identity. His ! counsel objected, on the gronnd that i this was compelling a witness to testify Í against hiniself - a thing a prjfionèr cannot be forced to do in a criminal prosecution, and on this ground a new trial is demanded.
